The Mission of the Gwynedd Construction Training
Group is to support Members and In-scope Companies
in obtaining an adequate supply of personnel trained
to appropriate standards to meet the needs of the
Construction Industry.
The Gwynedd Construction Training Group was established
in 1968 (then called North Wales and Chester West
Training Group).
Company membership initially was approximately
ten of whom the nucleus of the Member Companies
were affiliated to the National Federation of Building
Trade Employers.
The present membership encompasses mainly small
sized Building, Civil Engineering and Specialist
Building Companies representing the large geographical
area of Dwyfor, Meironydd, Môn, Arfon and Aberconwy.
The aim and purpose of the Group is to identify
current industry trends and enable Member Companies
- Management, Supervisory, Health and Safety Training
at an economic rate whilst continually maintaining
high standards.
The Group objectives will be determined by a compilation
of Group and CITB Policies, which may reflect changes
in the industry and reactionary need to address
underlying trends.
Whilst the current economic situation prevails
in the industry the Group shall be seen to be innovative
and progressive in it's approach to local needs.
The Group shall act as the voice of the industry
locally liasing with the TEC's, Unions, Federations,
College Authorities and other interested parties.
The Group's activities have increased over recent
years due to: -
- Increased Membership.
- Increased number of Management, Supervisory,
Health and Safety courses.
- Financially sound support for activities.
- Marketing of Group activities.
- Changes in legislation.
